Hello! The other day I became disturbingly aware of just how much time I waste online. I’ve since been making a conscious effort to “disconnect”. I think I’m still connected to the internet in some way more often than not (streaming music, quickly looking something up on the Wiki or IMDB), but I’ve definitely reduced the amount of mindless internet browsing that I had become accustomed to.
A definite positive aspect of this conscious change is that I’ve been having lots of fun with arts and crafts! These paper butterflies resulted from an email I received that was meant to contain an image. However, something glitched and what actually displayed on my screen was hundreds of pages of jumbled letters and symbols. It looked kind of cool, so I printed out ten pages, drew a butterfly template, traced it onto the paper and cut the shapes out. I attached the butterflies to a bare stretch of wall in the dining room.
I’m really loving spending less time online. It’s so easy to while away the hours staring at a screen. Have you done something fun or productive in the real world lately? (As opposed to the cyber world!) Let’s disconnect and make some real memories.
xx Michelle
